Sarah-Joy Pierce
Sarah-Joy Pierce is an experienced industry and government communications and public relations consultant. She leads two businesses: Joyful Communications and Strategic Mining Communications, both focusing on simplifying the complex and solving communication problems for specific audiences. Over the last decade, Sarah-Joy has written for clients in local government, major mining companies, manufacturing and higher education. Her specialty is telling stories – whether it’s through websites that speak to an audience, strategy that reaches stakeholders, or tenders that get results.
Looking for technical qualifications? Sarah-Joy holds a Master of Business (Public Relations) and a Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Professional Communication, plus an IAP2A Certificate in Engagement. She’s also a member of the Public Relations Institute of Australia and the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2).
Deb Wolhuter
Deb Wolhuter has a wealth of experience in writing and management across sectors as diverse as media, secondary and tertiary education, heavy industry and commerce. In every role of her career, Deb has become the ‘go-to’ person for wordsmithing, editing, proof reading. She’s always been known as the one who takes ideas and puts compelling words around them.
Deb holds a Master of Management (International Business), gained while working with offshore educational partners to establish Australian quality-assured programs.
Devon Lyon
Devon Lyon is an experienced marketing professional with a background in digital marketing, branding, copywriting and website development. She is part of the team at Joyful Communications and also works as a lecturer in communications. Devon has worked as a content creator, digital marketing specialist, brand manager and marketing manager. Her clients range from dentists and optometrists to engineers and start-up product companies. Devon’s specialty is finding clever ways to present information that helps your audience ‘catch the vision’ and want to get on board.
Devon holds a Master of Human Resource Management and a Bachelor of Business Marketing – so she is officially qualified to understand people and sell them things! At present Devon is enjoying the mix of being on the ground with clients, and then bringing this experience into the classroom with her university students.
